improving playground safety

knowledge, understanding, and accountability!

SAFE AT PLAY

A staggering 200,000+ children in the United States are seen each year in the emergency room with injuries associated with playground equipment. National Playground Safety Week increases overall awareness of the risks of injury on playgrounds and offers ways that educators, parents, and caregivers can manage those risks.

Safe At Play is hosting our 3rd Annual Playground Safety Awareness Week Kickoff event. Please join us at Denny Dobbs Park as we bring awareness to the importance of playground safety. This interactive, family-friendly event will feature an informational session on playground safety, as well as an award presentation for grades K-5 student winners of the playground safety poster contest. Attendees will enjoy entertainment, games, prizes, and event swag. Lunch will also be provided.

Play is a child's work and playgrounds are a critical part of their environment. Keeping those structures safe and providing proper supervision is a task we all need to share. National Playground Safety Week, celebrated April 22 to 26, reminds us all to make playgrounds safer for all kids.

Please register your family today. Come out and learn more about playground safety.

The kickoff event will take place *RAIN or SHINE*!

Registration is free and includes activites, lunch, and t-shirt (while suppllies last).
